APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION - GUNS N' ROSES

With Guns N' Roses hitting Indian shores in December( Dec 7th - Bangalore, Dec 9th - Mumbai & Dec 12th - Delhi), this is my tribute to the band that some might say were the last real hard rock band & this was their greatest album. I got my tickets for the show, and even though it's not the original line-up(with no Slash present), it's still going to be one kick-ass show.

One of the greatest debut albums by one of the greatest bands in rock history. The original 5 who lived the Hard Rock lifestyle - Sex, Drugs & Rock N Roll to the fullest - Axl Rose(Vocals), Slash (Lead Guitar), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitar), Duff McKagan (bass guitar) & Steven Adler (Drums). Back in the late 80's when the pop music scene was filled with "Hair Bands" & "Glam Rock" bands such as Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Poison, etc. Guns N Roses burst into the scene with their brand of hard uncompromising rock, with powerful  guitar riffs & incredible vocals with meaningful lyrics in certain songs like "Sweet Child O Mine".

Guns N Roses burst into the scene from the LA club scene playing at local clubs, living day to day in cheap motels, songs which were written on pizza boxes. It's incredible that the band came from humble beginnings to where they finally reached, from rocking clubs in LA to stadiums in Tokyo.

The Band was quickly signed up by Geffen Records & the 12 songs on the album were a breath of fresh air in the then glam scene which the audience then had grown tired of & wanted something a little more hardcore.
SONGLIST -
1."Welcome to the Jungle"
2."It's So Easy"

3."Nightrain"
4."Out ta Get Me"
5."Mr. Brownstone"
6."Paradise City"
7."My Michelle"
8."Think About You"
9."Sweet Child o' Mine"
10."You're Crazy"
11."Anything Goes"

12."Rocket Queen"

Songs like Welcome To The Jungle, Paradise City are now staple hard rock songs in most playlists. "Sweet Child O Mine" is an all time classic ballad, which was written by Axl Rose for his then girlfriend.
The band developed a very bad reputation of cancelling gigs, fans didn't know if they were going to witness musical history or a riot, which happened when the Guns cancelled a gig in Montreal.

The original band broke-up in 1994, and in early 2000's Axl won the legal rights to the name Guns N Roses & added new members to the line-up & released the album Chinese Democracy to mixed reviews.
The Guns are back & are set to rock India this December, lets hope that we Indians get to witness the awesomeness that is Guns N' Roses, even though its not the original line-up.
ROCK ON!!!\m/
